HP 15s-gr0010au
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hey there!
I'm planning on upgrading the RAM and adding a NVMe SSD to my laptop (HP 15s-gr0010au).
Current specs (stock) -
1x8GB 2400 MHz RAM
1 TB 5400 rpm HDD
AMD Ryzen 5 3450U

So, my question to you guys here - Is there an empty slot to add a 500 GB M.2 NVMe SSD to this laptop? If yes, I'm leaning towards adding the WD SN550 (500 GB) to this guy. The reason being, because I'm presently using this SSD in my other laptop and it works great without issues. (Also please mention the maximum storage that can be configured in this laptop when using both SSD+HDD, I'm not planning on removing the HDD. I want to use both the drives.)
Next question that I need help with is - I'm going to use Crucial's 2400 MHz 8GB module for the RAM upgrade to make it a total of 16 GB in dual channel config. Can you guys confirm and tell me whether there is an empty RAM slot in this laptop?
And one last random query - I use this device mostly at a desk, i.e., I keep it plugged in 99% of the time. So, is that okay or is it bad for the battery or something like that? Would be nice if someone helped me with all this (please provide a credible reason if you think the battery will degrade because of using the device plugged in all the time)
Also, if my suggested RAM and SSD parts are not compatible with this laptop, can you please suggest me some?
Thank you to whoever reads this and goes through the effort of helping me with the upgrade! 🙂

Hi:

Below is the link to the service manual for your notebook.

Maintenance and Service Guide (hp.com)

Chapter 1 has the memory upgrade info and the supported drive types.

The storage capacities listed in the manual are just what HP offered in the model series, not the max supported, so if you want to install a 500 GB NVMe SSD in your notebook, that should be fine.

Your notebook has two memory slots, so you can add another 8 GB of memory in the empty slot.

Battery...once a month, I would unplug the PC from the power supply and run the notebook off the battery, until the low battery warning comes on.

Leaving the PC plugged in 100% of the time may lead to battery swelling.  It's very unusual, but it is possible.
