Microsoft Windows 7 (32-bit)

Hello,

I have a pavilion dv6 2129 ev and I want to upgrade ram and hard drive. The memory I have is 1 x 1 gb and 1 x 2 gb. if i buy 8gb ram i can put it in the position of 1 gb and i have 10 gb ram? And can i put ssd 256 gb in my laptop?

Ram and SSD must have some specific technical features?

Hi,

Max RAM for your system is 8GB of DDR3 1066Mhz. On page 1-2 of service manual you can see various configurations.

You can replace the hard drive with a 2.5" SSD. On page 4-14 of service manual you can see the steps to replace the drive. You will need to install the OS on the SSD either by using HP recovery disks, migrating an image or performing clean install with Microsoft media.

Hi,

Just looking at the thread again I wanted to add that you should install Windows 7 64-bit as 32-bit systems will only recognize and use about 4GB of RAM (even if more RAM is installed)
