Pavilion 15-dk0046tx
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I want to upgrade the hardware on by laptop (Pavilion 15-dk0046tx). I'm planning to add an extra 8GB into it. What is the max RAM limit to which it can be upgraded?

Also is it possible to upgrade the graphics without replacing the processor (since the GPU has a dedicated slot and is not integrated)? Cuz the graphics card is GTX 1050, and I want to get something better if possible.

Hi,

Max RAM for the notebook is 64GB of DDR4 2666MHz RAM (2x32GB) even if the service manual mentions 32GB.

Example of RAM:

There are two slots and at the moment you have one 8GB module and one empty slot. So, yes you can another 8GB module in the empty slot. On page 34 of service manual you can see the steps to install the RAM

It is not possible to upgrade the graphics "card" as it is not in a slot. It is integrated on the motherboard together with the graphics subsystem. The only way would be to replace the whole motherboard (with CPU, GPU....) This will probably cost as much as a new computer. On page 56 of service manual you can see the compatible motherboards and part numbers.

Hope it helps,

David
