HP 15S-F1710ND
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi!

I'm starting to run out of required RAM. Is it possible to expand the RAM in my machine? Or do I have to buy another machine?

Thank you for your help.

@MarcoPolo5  There is no such number in the HP database for 15S-F1710ND

There is however an 15s-fq1710nd. Is that what you meant to say?

If so, yes you can add another 8GB stick with the existing 8GB stick for a total of 16GB.

If you are wanting to just add the second stick with the existing, you will want to match the timings of the first stick. Use a tool like CPUz to see the timings. Your specs show you have 2666MHz installed.

Some of us recommend using the Crucial memory finder for what they suggest. They guarantee theirs to work. Here is what they offer. Note: the laptop model used is not exactly yours, but is the same series and uses the same ram... https://www.crucial.com/compatible-upgrade-for/hp---compaq/hp-15s-fq1701nd#memory
