Hi:

According to chapter 1 of the service manual, your notebook has two memory slots and can support 2 x 8 GB of DDR4-3200 MHz memory.

Maintenance and Service Guide (hp.com)

You can probably install 2 x 16 GB of DDR4-3200 CL22 memory in your notebook if you want, and you can confirm that by running this command:

1. In the search box, search for cmd and click Run as administrator.

This will open the command prompt.

2. Once command prompt is opened, type wmic memphysical get maxcapacityEx and press the enter key.

There, it will show the maximum RAM capacity your PC's motherboard can support.

The capacity is shown as Kilobytes, so you have to convert it to Gigabytes by dividing the number provided in the report by 1,048,576.

Suggested memory for your notebook:

8 GB:

Crucial 8GB DDR4-3200 SODIMM | CT8G4SFRA32A | Crucial IT

16 GB:

It costs much less on Amazon:

Crucial RAM 8GB DDR4 3200MHz CL22 (or 2933MHz or 2666MHz) Memoria Laptop CT8G4SFRA32A : Amazon.it: I...

Crucial RAM 16GB DDR4 3200MHz CL22 (o 2933MHz o 2666MHz) Memoria Laptop CT16G4SFRA32A : Amazon.it: I...

Thank you so much… I have two 8 GB memory banks right now and I’d like to expand it with two of 16

You're very welcome.

Should be no problem.

I've checked the maximum capability in the cmd and it turned out that the division gives as a result 32 that i think it should be the maximum memory that i can install.... right now i have two 8GB Hynix 3200MHz memomy bank so there shouldn't be any problems if i change them with two of 16 GB from crucial that you suggested me right???

HP Recommended

That is correct.

You may want to get the memory on Amazon because it's about half the price than buying direct from Crucial.

What can i say thank you so much for now... let's hope the new memory will work!!!

Anytime.

Glad to have been of assistance.

The Crucial memory report I posted indicates the memory should be compatible with your notebook.

Crucial is the retail division of the Micron memory company who supplies memory chips to PC manufacturers the same as Hynix does.

Yes i saw your report and it was very clear... plus i registered my pc on the crucial website and it also gives me the possibility to purchase two memory banks of 16 GB for a total of 32 so i'm really sure it will be fine

Before i forgot, i promise you this is my last request... do you know anything about a tutorial about the change of memory banks for my pc or similar models??? i've never done that so i'd like to make it right
