HP Pavilion 15.6 inch Gaming Laptop PC 15-ec2000 (2P6B3AV)

Good afternoon,

I installed two RAM disks of 16GB each. I bought them in packs and checked that they were compatible and that they were both working.

RAM model - Crucial SO-DIMM DDR4 3200MHz PC4-25600 32 GB 2x16 GB CL22

I've already checked if they are having problems, installed BIOS updates and everything else and it still only shows 16GB of installed Ram.

Hi @JTE96,

Dual Channel Configuration:

  • Verify that the RAM sticks are installed in the correct slots to enable dual-channel mode. Refer to the laptop's manual to confirm the correct configuration.

Inspect for Hardware Issues:

  • Check for any visible damage or debris in the RAM slots that could be causing poor connections.
  • If possible, test each RAM stick individually in both slots to see if one stick or slot might be faulty.

Check for Software Issues:

  • Sometimes, software or driver issues can cause the system to misreport available RAM. Ensure all system drivers are up to date.
  • Perform a clean boot to rule out any software conflicts. Open msconfig, select "Selective startup," uncheck "Load startup items," go to the "Services" tab, check "Hide all Microsoft services," and click "Disable all." Restart your computer.

Additional Steps if None of the Above Work

Reset BIOS Settings:

  • Reset the BIOS to default settings. Sometimes custom settings can interfere with RAM recognition.

If after trying all the steps the issue persists, it may be necessary to contact phone support for further assistance as there could be a deeper hardware issue with the motherboard or RAM slots.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance
