Hi,

what are the possible options, to upgrade the 8GB RAM of the HP 14-cf2635 Notebook to 16GB? Is there a second slot in the Notebook to put in another 8GB? Is the actual RAM in a socket and upgrade is possible? Are there suggestions for specific manufactors?

Thanks

Well the specs of your computer is stating you have only one slot that is at maximum with 8GB, so I would say you can't upgrade it.

Are you sure, that it's not possible to change the 8 GB RAM to one 16GB RAM module?

ok so I checked hard 😄

This is the specs document of your PC :

http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c06146792

I don't know why I found contradictory information before, but the document says that you can have up to 16GB of RAM with the 2x8GB configuration, apparently you have 2 slots (I would advise to check before buying anything.

You apparently just need to remove the back panel and the battery it's just 11 screws to remove in 2 sets (back panel + battery) so I think it takes you 10 minutes to check.

But the specs says that you can't have more than 16 in total.

Also, just ONE ram stick of 16 would not work, and finally, it's better 2 have 2x8 than 1x16 so except if your firt 8GB are dead I would advise you to take just a second of 8 to up your RAM.

But CHECK your slots count to be sure the document is correct before buying anything !
