Hi, I am planning to expand my RAM to 16 GB and I had a few questions:

1: is it possible to upgrade to DDR4 Sodimm (because of the i7 6700hq) ?

2: Which RAM modules do i need (DDR4/DDR3) with links please.

3: Are the tuturials on youtube good enough? (I have some experience with PC's and PS4's, but not with this laptop

HP Recommended

No it is set up to take DDR3 memory. DDR4 memory is a physically different product and will not fit in the same slot that holds DDR3 memory. 

 

You need 2 of these:

 

8-GB (DDR3L-1600) 693374-005

 

Your Manual

 

See p. 39-47. Youtube videos vary quite a bit in quality but if it is actually your model it cannot hurt to watch one to see how somebody else does it.
