Hp 14q cs0014tu
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello,

I would like to upgrade the Ram on my HP 14q-cs0014TU with a  CRUCIAL RAM 8GB DDR4 2666MHZ CL19 MEMORY (CF8G4SFRA266)

The default ram is present in the laptop is Samsung 4GB 2666Mhz (samsung m471a5244cb0-ctd).

However the product specifications on hp says that it supports a DDR4- 2133 SDram.

Will it be okay if I install a crutial 2666mhz 8gb ram along with my original samsung 4gb 2666mhz ram card and use them together?

It's just that I'm worried if the  new 2666mhz will work ever since I saw that the hp product specifications mentioned 2133mhz.

Will I be able to use them together or will there be any compatibility issues.

I expect the new ram to speed boost my laptop.

Thank you

Hi:

You will be fine with the Crucial memory chip.

I think it is a good idea to match the same spec memory as what HP installed.

Your notebook's processor can only run the memory at a max speed of 2133 MHz, so the memory automatically bridges to that speed.

It is my assumption that HP installed a DDR4-2666 MHz memory chip in your PC because that is what they had on hand at the time.
