Hi,
i have a new HP Pavillion x360 laptop with 8GB RAM (1x8). It has 2 RAM slots but only 1 is in use based on the information from speccy scan. System model is HP Pavilion x360 - 14-dh1045nia. Operating system is windows 10 home single language. The processor is Intel Core i7-10510U CPU @ 1.80GHz. Motherboard is HP 866E (U3E1). Serial number is [Personal Information Removed]. Product number is 3H458EA#BH5.
I am thinking of upgrading the RAM to 16GB. However i am unsure how much RAM the motherboard can handle. I am also not sure what type of RAM the laptop is capable of using or the generation of RAM the laptop’s motherboard accepts.
Please i need help with this.

Thank you for posting on HP Support Community.
Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, After reading your post, I did go through the Product specifications of your product and found that you have 8 GB DDR4-2666 SDRAM (1 x 8 GB) installed on the PC.
And your computer supports up to 16 GB maximum system memory in the following configurations: http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c06523509 refer to the Table 1-1 Product components and their descriptions.
HP does not recommend to use Third party parts as they are not tested by HP and may not be accurate. However, you could change the configuration at your own discretion.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.

Thank you Echo_Lake,
In Table 1-1 Product components and their descriptions, i saw the phrase "Two SODIMM slots, non-accessible/non-upgradeable" written. Does that implies that the RAM can't be upgraded at all even by certified HP technician?
Thank you
