HP 240 G8 Notebook PC (43Q71AV)
Microsoft Windows 11

I want to upgrade my RAM from 8GB to 16GB, but I am unsure whether my system will be able to take it or not. I used the command line, but showed me that my max capacity is 32GB, same with Crucial System Checker. Yet, I'm worried that it'll bottleneck at 12GB. Kindly help me out in figuring my max memory capacity. I have an 8gb stick right now and want to fill the other slot with another 8gb if possible.

@SwapKaze,

If you know your model has an unused second slot, your notebook has an Intel Core processor, not Pentium or Celeron.

According to your service manual (on page 1), your model supports 16 GB (2x8 GB) GB DDR4-2666 memory.

Hopefully, you are now sure that you can install an 8 GB DDR4-2666 module in the second slot. You can use DDR4-3200 memory, but it'll downclock to 2666.
