Hello there!

I decided to upgrade my laptop with another 8gb RAM because I noticed that my laptop is kinda overwhelmed by the processes it has to work with and that in games it tends to slutter (most obviously in CoD: WarZone).  The question is, what kind of RAM you suggest me to buy and if it will be compatible with the RAM my laptop came with. Therefore I will leave some info about my laptop and some products I have found on the internet (some pages are from retailers from Romania but I think you can work with google's translate):

LAPTOP INFO:

Product number: 2KF69EA#AKE

Serial number: [edit]

CPU: i7-7700HQ

GPU: GTX 1050 2GB

RAM: 8GB SK Hynix 2400MHzUntitled.png

Products on Amazon recommended by the app above: https://www.amazon.com/s?k=SK+Hynix+PC4-19200&link_code=qs&tag=cpubenchmark-20

Products I have found at my local retailers:

Kingston 8GB DDR4 2400MHz CL17 1.2V

HyperX Impact 8GB DDR4 2400MHz CL14 1.2V

both are ~ 42$

Personally, I think that HyperX would make a good deal but I hope is compatible with my laptop. I'm waiting for your opinions.

Best Wishes!

Hi:

Below is the link to the crucial memory report for your notebook.   They offer compatible memory.

https://www.crucial.com/compatible-upgrade-for/hp---compaq/hp-omen-15-ce008nq

From the list, this would be the 8 GB chip I recommend for you.

I entered the part number in the Amazon link you posted, and they do sell it...

Thank you for the fast reply, I will go for your suggestion. Also, if I want to add an SSD, what do you recommend?

HP Recommended

You're very welcome.

The only way to add a SSD would be to add one of the M.2 NVMe SSD's offered in that link I posted above.

You will find them all the way at the bottom of the page.

The only thing is...PC's with 2.5" drives (used as storage), and M.2 SSD's (where the operating system goes), are configured at the factory.

When you have just a 2.5' hard drive, the OS is on the hard drive and even if you add a SSD, the notebook will always want to boot from the hard drive first.

My recommendation would be to temporarily disconnect the hard drive, get the OS up and running on the SSD and then hook the hard drive back up.

You may have to take the hard drive out of the PC, buy a USB to sata cable, plug one end into the hard drive, the other end into a USB port and format the hard drive to erase the OS.

And in this case, is it possible to do this swap of OS if I reinstall my computer? Say, delete all the files on the HDD (including the OS through windows install boot), shut-down laptop, plug the SSD, get the laptop running again and then proceed to install the OS on the SSD while my HDD remains unoccupied?

HP Recommended

Yes, in theory that should work.

Good idea.  I never thought of that.

Make a bootable W10 USB installer, when you get to the part that asks 'Where do you want to install Windows,' delete all partitions on the hard drive, format the partition, and then exit out of the installation.

Shut down the PC, install the SSD, install W10 on the SSD, and you should be good to go.
