I'm looking for advice on upgrading the RAM for my OMEN 17 an101na. I've used Crucial and identified a number of options but I wasn't sure what the best option for me.

I currently have 8GB RAM, and was considering adding another 8GB. However which option would you recommend?

Amazon gives the option of 8GB, 8GB single rank and 8GB dual rank. In addition there is the furthe option of three styles - 2666MT/s, 2400MT/s and 3200MT/S.

What do these options and styles mean and what would you recommend?

Thanks in advance.

Hi:

You would want to buy DDR4-2666 MHz memory.  That is the spec your notebook's processor requires.

Use the free utility that I zipped up and attached below that will show you the memory info for the currently installed memory chip.

If the memory is single rank, buy single rank.  If dual rank, buy dual rank.

Here is a screenshot of the report for my PC.  As you can see on the blue highlighted line, the memory is dual rank.
