HP ProBook 650 G3 Notebook PC

Hi,

I just wanted to upgrade my notebook RAM. After inserting the module n the second slot, the notebook won´t start, there is  a 3-long 2- short beeps error notification.

Tried to boot only with one RAM  module, works with the old and also with the newly bought.

BIOS updated to newest version.

Also the second module has the same product part number HMA81GS6AFR8N-UH

Any help please ?

Thanks

The error message:

This condition indicates a potential memory failure. Reseat the memory module from inside the computer.

Given that the soDIMM modules are identical and what you tried, there may be a faulty memory slot issue.

If you want to upgrade to 16GB, you may have to use a compatible 16 GB soDIMM module.

Borrowed a pair of rams with identical product part, including the "AC" in the description. Works fine. Seems the problem is that one ram js "AC" and the other is "AD". If that is the case then it is INSANE that HP laptops are that incredibly picky. Real shame

It does make a difference.

It is probably a difference in the primary or secondary timings.
