Hi, I want to upgrade my laptops RAM to 2x 8GB = 16GB.

Can you please suggest if its compatible for my device?
Also, can you please share a few products (preferably Samsung) which I can go with.

Please keep in mind the current specification of my system so that I don't buy a product which might be incompatible or might cause system failure/crash.

You're very welcome.

Here is a quick tutorial on DDR3 (1.5 V) memory vs DDR3L (1.35V) memory.

In order to meet the DDR3 memory standard, DDR3L memory must also be able to run at 1.5V.

So, with DDR3L memory you have the best of both worlds.

It will work in a PC that only supports 1.5V memory or a PC that only supports 1.35V memory.

On the other hand, DDR3 (1.5V) memory does not have the ability to run at 1.35V which means that if a notebook specifically requires DDR3L memory, it will not work properly or at all.

That is why the Crucial DDR3L memory I posted should work just fine in your notebook.

Hi:

Chapter 1, page 4 of the service manual indicates that 2 x 8 GB of DDR3 memory is supported.

This should be a compatible 8 GB memory chip for your notebook:

@Paul_Tikkanen

Thanks for quick reply.

The current RAM which I am using is 1Rx8 PC3 - 12800S-11-10-ZZZ. As per my knowledge and google, it supports only 1.5Volt. But the variants with PC3L  supports 1.35Volt.

I am not sure whether the product you suggested would support my system.

I have been digging info multiple websites and was confused so raised a query here.
