I  have a HP pavilion g6 1201tx model laptop and it has currently 4GB of RAM which I want to upgrade to 8GB. I want to know if we can do it and it will not create any stress on the motherboard.

Hi,

You can upgrade to 8gb

Manual: http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c02968997

Specs: https://support.hp.com/in-en/document/c03061225

There are 2 slots

You can put two 4gb sticks of exact same configuration ,speed and voltage as each other and as given in manual

Crucial, Samsung, Hynix are good brands

4GB DDR3 PC3 10600 1333MHz 1.5V SO-DIMM SDRAM, 621569-001
