Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Can you help me what particular RAM stick should i buy for upgrade? Im still confuse about the numbers attached to a DDR4   Like theres DDR4/2666 and DDR4/2400. My laptop specs says DDR4.  What does the 2666 & 2400 means? I want to make sure that i buy the right one. I want to buy an 8gb ram and ill just transfer my 4gb ram to my wife's laptop.  Thank you

Hi:

Below is the link to the product specs page for your notebook.

https://support.hp.com/ph-en/document/c05537764

Below is the link to the Crucial memory/SSD report for your notebook.

https://www.crucial.com/compatible-upgrade-for/hp---compaq/hp-14-bs072tx

The fastest speed the processor in your notebook can run the memory at is 2133 MHz.

So, you would want to get the memory chip closest to that speed, which would be DDR4-2400.

The DDR4 2400 MHz memory will 'bridge' or 'downclock' to 2133 MHz.

See if you can get this memory chip from the above list in the Philippines...

In order for the memory you take out of your notebook to work in your wife's laptop, it must be the same DDR4 type memory or it won't fit in the memory slot.

Thank you for your assistance Sir, i will buy the DDR4 2400.

In my wife's laptop it says DDR4. Should i check first if its 2666 or 2400? Will it matters or not? As long as its the same DDR4? By the way her laptop is not hp its acer.

You're very welcome.

What model processor does your wife's notebook have?

I will let you know if that memory will be OK or will slow it down.

It will fit.

Her laptop is Acer aspire a314-41 Sir, processor is Amd A9.

Hi:

The memory chip you plan to remove in your notebook will work just fine in hers too.

The processor her notebook has can only run the memory at 1866 MHz, so the 2133 MHz memory chip will 'bridge' or downclock to 1866 MHz.

Since my hp laptop's ram is DDR4-2133 Sir is it better to use the same DDR4-2133 or it would be faster if i use the DDR4-2400?

and also which is better sir?

Two 4GB DDR4

or

One 8gb DDR4

Hi:

If the notebook has two memory slots, 2 x 4 GB would be better than 1 x 8 GB (unless you plan on adding another 8 GB chip in the future).

It would be very hard to find DDR4-2133 memory; PC-2400 memory will work just fine, and may even cost less than PC4-2133 memory.

Neither will be any faster.  It is all going to run at 2133 MHz.

Now i know what to do with my upgrade. Thank you sooo much
