I am planning to upgrade my RAM to 32GB(2*16) but the official page suggest my laptop supports only 16GB RAM maximum (2*8 GB). Does anyone have any idea or experience regarding this? Is there any possibility that the website shows max of 16 because that was the max capacity during the time of release of laptop?

You're very welcome.

Yes, that is what it means maximum memory is 32 GB, two memory slots = 16 GB per slot.

You divide the 33554432 by 1,048,576 to get the 32 GB max memory number.

HP probably only tests certain memory configurations.

Your notebook should be able to support 2 x 16 GB of memory.

If you want to see if your notebook can support more than 2 x 8 GB of memory, you can run this command in Windows Powershell as administrator:

Get-CimInstance -ClassName Win32_PhysicalMemoryArray | Select-Object MaxCapacityEx, MemoryDevices

This is what I got. That means I can buy 2 16GB DDR4 3200 RAMs?

Thanks for replying though.
