HP Pavilion 15-au023cl
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi. I have HP Pavilion 15-au023cl. I wanted to upgrade my RAM. It comes with 12 GB DDR3-1600 SDRAM (1 x 4 GB, 1 x 8 GB). Can i replace the 4GB RAM with an 8GB DDR4 RAM? And which model RAM in particular of 8GB. Thanks!

Hi:

Yes, you can remove the 4 GB chip and replace it with an 8 GB chip and it is a very good idea to do that, not only for the memory increase, but the memory will run in the better performing dual data rate (DDR) mode.

Right now the memory is running in the lower performing single date rate (SDR) mode.
