Product: HP 15-dw1081wm 15.6
I am trying to make sure I get the right type of RAM to upgrade my sons HP 15-dw1081wm 15.6. I know it is ddr4 laptop RAM but is currently 4Gb and he wants to put 32 in. Would it be better to run a single slot of 32 or 2x16? Certain types? Any tips or suggestions regarding this are welcome. thanks

Its specs
https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c06915471
It has 4 GB DDR4-2400 SDRAM (1 x 4 GB) now. You can upgrade to
- 8GB: add same existing 4GB to slot 2
- 16GB: install 2 x 8 GB using compatible RAM such as https://www.crucial.com/memory/ddr4/ct8g4sfs824a/ct19377222 x2
- 32GB: install 2 x 16GB using compatible RAM such as https://www.crucial.com/memory/ddr4/ct2k16g4sfd824a/ct19377124
Regards.
