Please use the following way to find out the amount of RAM it supports
1. In the search box, search for cmd and click Run as administrator.
This will open the command prompt.
2. Once command prompt is opened, type wmic memphysical get maxcapacityEx and hit enter.
From here, it will show the maximum RAM capacity your PC's motherboard can support.
By the way, your machine is an HP Envy 13-ab000nw, its specs:
https://support.hp.com/au-en/document/c05346345
It has 8 GB LPDDR3-1866 SDRAM (onboard) RAM that means RAM is soldered to its system board and NON-UP GRADABLE.
Regards.

Hi, @Scout2137
Below is the link to the service manual for your notebook.
https://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c05356832.pdf
Chapter 1 has the memory information.
The notebook comes with LPDDR3-1866 memory.
LPDDR3 memory is soldered to the motherboard which means your notebook's memory cannot be upgraded.
If you look at chapter 3 of the manual, different motherboards are offered in the model series that come with 4 GB, 8 GB or 16 GB of memory.
