 Product number (2J4V9AV) you posted indicates that your model actually is part of 15-ef2000.

 

HP only provides a manual for 15-ef0xxx models which come with Ryzen 3xxx series processors which support max 16 GB (2x8 GB).

 

Crucial reports that 15-ef2xxx models support max 32 GB (2x16 GB) DDR4-3200 memory.
