hp pavilion dv6-2155dx
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi everyone! I want to know the RAM voltage to upgrade a hp pavilion dv6-2155dx.
Searching in this forum I found the RAM information but not the voltage. I need to know that because there is memorys that work at 1.35 volt and other at 1.5 volt.
This is the information I have:

4096-MB, 1066 MHz DDR-3 DIMM (Part# 579156-001)
2048-MB, 1066 MHz DDR-3 DIMM (Part# 579155-001)
1024-MB, 1066 MHz DDR-3 DIMM (Part# 579154-001)

Thanks in advance !!

Hi,

Your PC was built for DDR3 RAM which runs at 1.5V.

However, it will also run on DDR3L RAM which is caple of running at 1.35V and also at 1.5V.

So, DDR3L RAM will run in DDR3 systems (DDR3 RAM will not run in DDR3L systems)

You r notebook supports max 8GB of DDR3 RAM 1066MHz.

So, you can use DDR3L RAM which will run at 1066MHz (2x4GB). It will be easier to find and cheaper.

Example:

https://www.crucial.com/compatible-upgrade-for/hp---compaq/pavilion-dv6-2155dx#memory

You could also replace the Hard Drive with a cheap 2.5" SSD which would give an extra boost to the everyday performance of the notebook.

Hope it helps,

David
