Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I'M PLANNING TO UPGRADE MY RAM FROM 8GB TO 16GB. SHOULD I BUY BUFFERED OR NON BUFFERED 8GBX2 RAM? ANY OTHER INFO REGARDING COMPATIBILITY WITH MY MOTHERBOARD WOULD BE HELPFUL?

I think your machine is an HP 17-G015DX (zero), not HP 17-GO15DX (letter O). Please use the following compatible RAM

Hi,

Your PC supports 16GB of DDR3L 1600Mhz RAM (2x8GB). You can purchase from your preferred brand such as Crucial, Corsair...

You need unbuffered and make sure it is DDR3L and not DDR3.

On page 41 of service manual you can see the steps to upgrade RAM:
