Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello Guys

I have a Hp pavilion 15-cc561st laptop, and its speed was fine, but I wanted it to be much faster while I was working with software like MATLAB and COMSOL Multiphysics, so one measure I had taken was to replace the 1TB HDD with 256GB SATA SSD, so its start-up speed was improved, but the processing speed was not increased that much.

So to improve its speed, do I have to increase the RAM too? If so, originally it has 8GB RAM already installed. so what type and specification (details of the speed and frequency) of RAM should I consider adding? And will it help to improve the overall performance of the Laptop while using the intensive software I have listed above?

Thank you for your time and consideration.

With Kind Regards!!

Hi:

The fastest speed your notebook's i5-7200U processor can run the memory at is 2133 MHz.

Usually that speed memory is expensive and hard to find, so most folks buy a DDR4-2400 memory chip and that will work fine at 2133 MHz.

This would be the 8 GB part number I recommend:
