Hello

Where can I find the RTC Battery in Pavilion 17-cd0020nw ? I have weak main battery and sometimes my computer shuts down immediately and then BIOS settings are restored to factory default . I suppose this is because of dead RTC Battery. Is it possilbe to replace this battery by yourself ?

Hi:

 

Your notebook does not have a RTC battery.

 

The main battery also serves as the RTC battery which maintains the BIOS and clock settings.

 

Below is the link to the service manual.

 

Maintenance and Service Guide HP Pavilion Gaming 17 Laptop PC

 

Chapter 3 has the list of parts.

 

You will not find a part number for a RTC/CMOS battery.

 

Chapters 5 and 6 have the component removal and replacement procedures.

 

You will find no procedure to remove or replace a CMOS/RTC battery.
