I would like to upgrade the RAM on my computer from 4GB (2 x 2GB) to 8GB (2 x 4GB).  I understand that this is only possible if I have a Model 1.1 or a Model 1.2.

Can anyone tell me from the information provided if my notebook's RAM is upgadeable?

Thanks for the help.

Thanks for getting back to us. I can understand your concern.

I have checked once again and your computer does support 8 GB RAM, 4 GB on each slot. So, you can go ahead and upgrade without any issues.

Let me know if there's any else that I may help you with.

Have a great day!

Greetings!

Welcome to the HP Community. This is a great place to get support, find answers and tips to your technical queries. I have reviewed your post and I understand, you are trying to upgrade the RAM on the computer.

HP G72-b60US Notebook PC has a 4GB DDR3 System Memory (2 DIMM) installed on it. The maximum RAM supported is 8GB.

Here's the product specs link.

You can install 4 GB RAM on each memory slot - 4096 MB (2048 MB × 2)

Please refer to page# 2 of the Service Guide to know more.

For instructions to install the Memory Module, refer to page# 51 of the same Service Guide.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

To Asmita,

Thank you for your answer.  I still have a concern about the post from "Huffer" back in 2014 where he said only Models 1.1 and 1.2 of G72 note books had upgradeable  RAM as you described in your reply to my original post.   Can you shed any light on this wrt my particular Notebbook?  If it will help the system board number is 143960.50 and the BIOS is F.48.

I would appreciate any help with this as I am reluctant to purchase the larger RAM until I have an answer to this.

Thanks again,
