Hi I am Using Hp elitebook 840g1 laptop i want to add a new ram . my old ram is 4GB 1Rx8 PC3l-12800S . i want to add another 8GB ram in second slot. is there anything that should keep in mind during upgrading mean 1rx8 etc actually i want to make it 12GB 8+4 . is it ok ?

Hi,

Yes you can insert an extra 8GB module (max 16GB)

You need DDR3L 1600MHz RAM. Important o get DDR3L and not DDR3
