HP Notebook-15-bs180tx
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi,

I have a HP Notebook-15-bs180tx laptop with Intel core i5 8250u processor and 8 gb onboard RAM. I want to upgrade the RAM to 16gb. Is it possible to do so and if possible then which company RAM should  i use which will be fastest for my Windows 10 Pro 64 bit system.

Regards,

Vikas

Oh yes...2 x 8 gigs for 16 total and even 2 x 16 for 32 gigs total will work on your Intel Core 8th gen system.

Your Service Manual

Specs for your 8th gen model start on p. 6. DDR4-2400, 2 slots. Manual says 16 gigs max but well known that 32 gigs will work.

Pages 49-55 for installation procedure.

You can just add one of these in the empty slot to have 16 gigs total which is more than enough for most users. Crucial also sells a 32 gig kit for which they will guarantee compatibility.

Thanks for your reply Sir. In India currently the following laptop RAM from Crucial is available on Amazon.in.

Crucial 16gb Kit (2X8GB) DDR4-2400 SODIMM CT2K8G4SFS824A instead of CT8G4SFD824A. Will this work on my laptop.

Also apart from Crucial which other brands of laptop RAM will work on my laptop.

Vikas
