I would like to upgrade my ram.
However, the 2 ram slots in my laptop are not identical, so the existing ram won't fit into the second slot.
When inspecting the ram slots I noticed that on the first slot, it is engraved "DDR4 H=4.0R" and on the second (empty) "DDR4 H=4.0S".
I can't find any information on the web regarding the differences between these slots.
Should I buy a ram stick identical to my current one with bigger capacity or is it possible to utilize the second slot?
My current ram is a 4GB DDR4 2400MHz.
Thanks,
Kostas

Thank you for your response.
The problem here is that the slots are not identical (unless there has been some manufacturing error), because the memory module that came with the laptop works flawlessly in slot #1 but won't fit into slot #2, however the slots are quite similar, I couldn't tell them apart without trying to fit the memory module.

I have never seen a pair of soDIMM slots in a notebook that was not identical.
I have opened literally hundreds of notebooks for upgrading purposes.
Tae a close look at the slots and the keying on the memory module and try it again.

Each Memory module (soDIMM) slots for a notebook that is useable for installing memory modules will be of the very same type and have the same type of key.
That is just how memory module slots are set up on notebook system boards. I am not saying that to be contrary, but that is just how they are and always have been designed.
I suggest that you need to take your notebook to a notebook shop.
