Microsoft Windows 11

Hello

I am using

HP Pavilion x360 - 14-dh1178tu

inbuilt RAM is 8GB, but it is not sufficient for me, i Want to upgrade it to 16GB or 32GB.

Is it possible to increase the RAM on my same Laptop, or do i need to buy a new one.

Hi:

HP only has the service manual for the older 14-dh0xxx model series.

Maintenance and Service Guide HP Pavilion x360 14 Convertible PC

According to chapter 1 of the manual, your notebook has two memory slots and can support up to 2 x 8 GB of DDR4-2666 MHz memory,

Since the manual is outdated, you can do this to see how much memory your notebook can actually support:

1. In the search box, search for cmd and click Run as administrator.

This will open the command prompt.

2. Once command prompt is opened, type wmic memphysical get maxcapacityEx and hit enter.

There, it will show the maximum RAM capacity your PC's motherboard can support.

The capacity is shown as Kilobytes, so you have to convert it to Gigabytes by dividing the number provided in the report by 1,048,576.

The Crucial memory report for your notebook indicates it can support up to 2 x 32 GB of memory.
