i got hp pavilion dv6 1140 et notebook inside quanta 3628  and intel mobile core 2 duo p8600 this comupter how much ram supports  it installed ddr2 4gb

Chapter 1 of the service manual indicates the notebook will support 2 x 4 GB of DDR2-6400 memory.

You will most likely find that 4 GB DDR2-6400 memory chips are very expensive (unless you can find some in used but tested and working condition) and I don't know if it would be worth it.

 

Better to install a 2.5" SSD if you have not done so already.

 

You need to buy DDR2-6400 dual ranked memory.  8 little black chips on each side of the circuit board, not 4.

I recommend one of the Western Digital Blue SA510 2.5" SSD's.

 

I don't know what storage capacity you want but I don't recommend going beyond 1 TB in such an old notebook.
