Hi,
I'd like to know wich type of Ram is compatible with the motherboard HP 84C1 15.32 with is on my laptop HP pavillon.
My main problem is the speed because when I check caractéristic of my laptop (on internet) the ram speed is 2400 Mhz and the ram actually installed is 2666 Mhz.
I copy further informations of my motherboard here:
Fabricant (système): HP

Version (système): Type1ProductConfigId
SKU Number: 6LE73EA#ABF
Fabricant du bios: Insyde

Thanks for your answer and have a good day

You're very welcome.
Normally notebooks with the Intel 8th gen core processors that have two memory slots can support 2 x 16 GB of memory.
That is why Crucial indicates that 32 GB is as supported.
HP indicates the max is 2 x 8 GB.
I don't know why, but for some reason on some model notebooks they don't provide the best information available.
Maybe they only tested the notebooks for 2 x 8 GB of memory.
You can confirm how much memory your PC can support by:
1. In the search box, search for cmd and click Run as administrator. This will open the command prompt.
2. Once command prompt is opened, type wmic memphysical get maxcapacityEx and hit enter.
There, it will show the maximum RAM capacity your PC's motherboard can support.
The capacity is shown as Kilobytes, so you have to convert it to Gigabytes by dividing the number provided in the report by 1,048,576.

Hi:
The maximum speed your notebook's i7 8565U processor can run the memory at is 2400 MHz.
Intel® Core™ i7-8565U Processor
That is why the DDR4-2666 MHz memory chip HP installed in your notebook has automatically bridged to 2400 MHz.
The most likely reason HP installed DDR4-2666 MHz memory in your notebook is that is what they had on hand at the assembly plant at the time.
I recommend if you plan on adding another 8 GB of memory to your notebook, that you buy a compatible Crucial DDR4-2666 MHz memory chip, so it closely matches the specs of the one HP installed.

You can buy this same part in France.

Below is the link to the service manual, where you can find the memory removal and replacement procedure.

If you want to install 32 GB of memory, Crucial indicates 2 x 16 GB is also supported, but chapter 1 of the manual indicates the max is 2 x 8 GB.

Thanks a lot for your answer.
I just didn't understand the last sentence "If you want to install 32 GB of memory, Crucial indicates 2 x 16 GB is also supported, but chapter 1 of the manual indicates the max is 2 x 8 GB."
Can I upgrade to 32Go or not ? Crucial says yes and Hp says no ?
Thanks
