HP Pavilion x360 - 14-ba075tx
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello,

i need to upgrade my RAM in my HP Pavilion x360 - 14-ba075tx laptop, however i am unsure about the RAM frequencies in the following aspects:

1. RAM i have shortlisted is Crucial 8GB 2400 mhz, however the existing RAM is of 4 GB, 2133 MHZ, so if i  add this 8GB of ram in second slot, whether both will work together with a totality of 12 GB. or there may be some inconsistency due to different frequencies. link below:

https://www.amazon.in/Crucial-8GB-DDR4-2400-SODIMM-CT8G4SFS824A/dp/B01BIWKP58/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid...

2. whether the existing RAM may be overclocked to 2400 mhz.

Thanks in advance.

Bhupender

Hi:

You should be fine using memory of different frequencies.

DDR4-2133 memory is getting very hard to find nowadays and even DDR4-2400 is starting to become hard to find.

What happens when you install a 2400 MHz memory chip in a PC with a 2133 MHz memory chip is the 2400 MHz memory chip automatically bridges to 2133 to match the speed of the 2133 memory chip.

2133 MHz is the fastest speed the processor your notebook has can run the memory at anyway.
