Hi:
The model series has one memory slot that will support up to 1 x 16 GB of DDR4-2666 memory.
See Chapter 1 of the second service manual listed at the link below:

Yea, I was looking into the OP's question as well: Crucial claims that you can install up to 1 x 32GB RAM: HP - Compaq Pavilion 14-ce3501na | Memory RAM & SSD Upgrades | Crucial.com.

If the OP wants to install a 32 GB memory chip, I recommend that the following WIndows command be run to see if it is possible:
1. In the search box, search for cmd and click Run as administrator.
This will open the command prompt.
2. Once the command prompt is opened, type wmic memphysical get maxcapacityEx and hit enter.
There, it will show the maximum RAM capacity your PC's motherboard can support.
The capacity is shown as Kilobytes, so you have to convert it to Gigabytes by dividing the number provided in the report by 1,048,576.
The problem is Windows may think that there are two memory slots, so the only way I would take a chance installing a 32 GB memory chip would be if the report indicated 67,xxx,xxx (64 GB -- 2 x 32 GB).
If it reports 33,xxx,xxx, then I think the safe bet would be to go with a 16 GB memory chip in the one slot.
