HP Laptop PC 14-d2000 (2D126AV)
Microsoft Windows 11

Hello everyone, I own an HP Laptop PC 14-d2000 (2D126AV) and after reseating my Ram and attempting to take it out, the ram in the first slot will not come out despite pulling the clamps. The Ram is a single stick of Timetec 8GB DDR4-3200 Ram and the computer does not register it despite being inserted into the slot. Any ideas on how to fix this?

Thanks in advance

Hi:

Looking at your screenshot, it appears that the memory is not fully seated in the slot, which is probably why it isn't registering.

You might need some help with someone holding the retainers open while you try and remove the stuck memory chip from the slot.

Are you sure you lined the notch in the memory up with the key in the slot?

I have attempted to pull back the retainers and pull back the memory to no avail.

The stick of ram doesn't appear to be loosening up regardless of whether I pull back the retainers or not.

Are there any other things I can do to get it out?

Thanks in advance

You're very welcome.

Unfortunately, I don't have any experience with that kind of issue, but since you have tried everything you could, at this point, I recommend you bring in the PC to your local PC repair shop where they may have more experience/special tools with handling a problem like that.

Because if you break the slot or worse, that would not be good.
