My laptop recently is getting slow, it has 4gb of ddr3l 1600mhz ram memory. It has 2 memory slots.
So i wanted to upgrade my laptop memory.
I want to know about the maximum amount of ram or memory my laptop can support.
The link for the service manual is
http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c05227786
I did not understand anything from the service manual.
Clearly my laptop is installed with AMD Quad-Core A8-7410 APU (2.2 GHz, up to 2.5 GHz, 2 MB cache) as the processor and AMD Radeon R5 Graphics.
And finally my question is
In the manual it has told that it supports only single channel, can i install 2 sticks of 4gb ram in this laptop and what is the maximum amount of ram my laptop supports ?
Thank you for taking time and answering the question

You're very welcome.
You're not annoying me at all.
I can click on the link and get the info for your notebook just fine.
You have to install 2 x 8 GB because a single 16 GB chip is not supported in the slot.
From the link above, I have selected a 2 x 8 GB kit that should work for your notebook, which is CT2KIT102464BF160B
Click on the 'Where to buy' button on the right side of the webpage.

Hi:
Yes, the manual is pretty confusing but since you already know your notebook has DDR3L memory, you can jump right to the section of the manual that indicates the DDR3 memory upgrade info.
You can install 2 x 8 GB of DDR3L-1600 memory in your model.
It appears the architecture your notebook has only supports the memory running in single channel mode--even if there are two memory chips of matching capacities.
Normally, two slots of matching memory capacities will run in the higher performing dual channel (DDR) mode.
You will still have 16 GB of memory though, and the difference in single channel performance and dual channel performance should not be very significant.
Here is the link to the Crucial, India memory report which lists compatible memory upgrade kits for your model.

hi paul,
Thank you once again for making time and giving me such valuable information. Thats so kind of you.
Now i got to know that i can install 16gb of ram in my notebook. I want to install the maximum memory that is 16gb in my notebook.
The provided link did not support my laptop model and couldnt get a scan
since my notebook has a different architecture of single channel,
should i install 2 sticks of ddr3l 1600mhz 8 gb ram
or
single stick 16 gb ram ddr3l 1600mhz
or
can i install a 4gb and 8gb ram sticks with same frequency
sorry if i am annoying you...
