Hello, i want to upgrade the ram from 8GB to 16GB on my HP Pavilion x360 - 14-ba008nl, buying another 8GB stick, equal to the model already installed.

Now, the HP part number for the ram is: 855843-972 ,  SoDIMM, 8GB, DDR4-2400, Samsung, C die.

Partsurfer does not take the option to bought the stick, exactly like HP Parts Store; probably they dont produce it anymore.

So the only options that remains are to buy a stick of 16GB or two sticks of 8 GB from another brand, and throw away the original stick?

You're very welcome.

Your notebook's i5-7200U processor can only run memory at a max speed of 2133 MHz.

Intel Core i57200U Processor 3M Cache up to 3.10 GHz Product Specifications

The standard DDR4-2400 memory will automatically bridge to 2133 MHz.

I don't recommend buying gaming or performance memory, unless it has the same timing and CL specs as the original memory that came with your notebook.

The Crucial DDR4-2400 memory will work just like the standard DDR4-2133 memory chip that your notebook came with.

Hi:

I recommend you try this compatible 8 GB memory chip along with the existing one and it should work just fine.

In the unlikely event it doesn't, then just buy another one and replace the Samsung chip.

 Thanks for the answer!

It seems that the stick work at 2133Mhz with a CAS of 15, so is it even better to take a stick with the same latency and frequency? like this:

or

From the spec the original kit should work with a frequency of 2400MHz, so i supposed that is limited by the matherboard.
