HP Pavilion Gaming - 15-ec1040nw
Microsoft Windows 11

Hello,
I have a HP Pavilion Gaming laptop - 15-ec1040nw and I would like to ask what type of RAM can I add to it? I tried to search for something myself but I figured it would be better to ask someone to confirm my findings.

So... if I found the correct information, my laptop should be able to handle 32GB RAM and 3200MHz, is that correct?

If this is correct, can I use Crucial SO-DIMM 16GB DDR4 3200MHz CL22 RAM in this laptop?

Also, I currently have 2x 4GB DDR4-3200 SDRAM in my notebook, can I remove one 4GB RAM and put the above mentioned one instead to get to 20GB, or will there be a compatibility issue since the RAMs are not from the same manufacturer?

I will be very grateful for the answer.

Hi:

Yes, your notebook can support 2 x 16 GB of DDR4-3200 memory.

This would be the memory part number Crucial recommends for your notebook.

Crucial 16GB DDR4-3200 SODIMM | CT16G4SFRA32A | Crucial EU

You can leave the 4 GB chip installed and have 20 GB, but the memory will only run in single channel mode.

In order for the memory to run in dual channel mode, you need to install matching memory capacities in each slot.

Below is the link to the service manual, where you can find the memory upgrade info and memory removal and replacement procedure.
