Hi:

Your notebook cannot run the memory any faster than 2133 MHz.

Most folks install DDR4-2400 memory when they have a situation like yours.

The memory will automatically bridge to 2133 MHz.

Hi

Thanks for your response.

I did my research and found out from the intel website that this board cannot support more than 2133.

However, I'm surprised that I have 1 ram of 2 different brands and speeds by default. 1 is SK Hynix with 2400 bandwidth and the other is Samsung with 2133 bandwidth.

Do you think upgrading both to the same bandwidth will make any significant difference? Lately, I'm not been able to multi-task if anything is ruining behind my laptop starts lagging.

You're very welcome.

If you want to upgrade, retain the 8 GB chip (even if it is the 2133 MHz one) remove the 4 GB chip and replace it with an 8 GB chip.

What will happen now is you will have 16 GB memory running in the faster performing dual channel mode, rather than 12 GB running in single channel mode, so that should make some difference.

Have you replaced the 2.5" mechanical hard drive with a 2.5" SSD?

If not, that should be high on your list of priorities to upgrade.

Noted I will replace 4 GB 2400 ram with 8 GB 2133.

By default, I have a 128GB SSD. My laptop was running well for the last 5-year dunno why these days it has started laying while multi-tasking.WhatsApp Image 2022-12-04 at 1.20.44 PM.jpeg I hope this ram upgrade works

The extra memory should help somewhat.
