The specs of your machine is on other message. It ONLY has one slot of RAM and supports 8GB max. You can REPLACE its 4 GB DDR3L SDRAM (1 x 4 GB) now to a compatible 8GB such as

Hi, @papasmurf27
Notebooks with the Intel Celeron processors can only support 1 x 4 GB of memory.
Many forum members have tried 8 GB memory chips in the 15-f233wm notebooks with the Celeron processors and none were successful.
I could never understand that until I read chapter 1, page 1 of the service manual.
HP 15 Notebook PC Maintenance and Service Guide
One SODIMM non-customer-accessible/upgradable memory module slot (Pentium, Celeron processors)
DDR3L-1333 MHz dual channel support (DDR3L-1600 downgraded to DDR3L-1333)
Supports up to 4 GB max system memory (DDR3L-1600 MHz module)
