HP 15-bc551nd
Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)

This laptop comes with a 8GB SODIMM installed. I would like to upgrade to 16 GB (2x8gb).

There is however nothing to be found on this in the manual.

I'm quite tech-savy. Is there any possibilty to upgrade or not at all?

(if so, with which type of sodimm?)

Thanks!

Hi:

According to the crucial memory upgrade info, you can install up to 64 GB of memory (2 x 32 GB).

I don't see where they even sell 32 GB memory modules...

Here is the service manual for the 15-bc model series...

Hi Paul! thanks for your fast reply.

Yes but I can't really trust Crucial can i?

The manual says nothing about this at all...

You're very welcome.

All I can say is that I have used Crucial memory in my HP desktop and notebook PC's and it has never let me down.

They also guarantee compatibility and the memory comes with a lifetime warranty.

The service manual linked to your notebook's support page is inadequate and contains outdated info--only listing 7th gen core processors.

Hopefully the removal and replacement procedures apply to your model though.

Hi!, @Woute :

You can see how can upgrade Memory module in your notebook, from … https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c00820047

HP recommends purchasing memory directly from HP, an authorized HP dealer, or from a reputable computer parts supplier such as Crucial.
Many computer parts suppliers partner with HP to suggest the correct memory for your computer model. Before purchasing memory, make sure you know how much memory you need and what type of memory is compatible with your computer.
