Hey everyone so I have an hp zbook 15 g2 but I'm not sure what ram goes with it even tho it says DDR3L PC3L-128001 1600MHz Non-ECC SODIMM online I used a DDR3 PC3 12800S-11 1600 CL11 and it didn't work

Hi:

 

If you installed a DDR3 PC3 12800S-11 1600 CL11 memory chip and it didn't work, that is because your notebook uses is DDR3L-1600.

 

The 'L' stands for low voltage 1.35V.

 

A DDR3 memory chip is 1.5V and cannot run at 1.35V whereas a DDR3L chip can run at both voltages.
