@QTR

Please go to vendor site (of the SSD) to download and update its firmware.

Hope this helps.

Hi, @QTR

See if updating the chipset and intel management engine interface drivers to their latest versions, and restarting the PC, resolves the problem.

Chipset.  Install first and restart...

10.1.1.40

IMEI:  Install second and restart...

Dear Paul

hope you are well.

I tried this and diagnose it but it didn't work 😞

my friend told me to try to install the previous bios version because my updated bios version is not what it came with my laptop when purchasing it several years ago and it's newer than what is on the HP support site.

if this is an option solution can you advise me from where I can downgrade the bios.

2- I linked this problem with fan noise when the laptop fand works and you feel and hear the sound usually the freezing happen but not sure if it's the freezing cause or no

3- shall I try format because after upgrading to SSD it already formated and installed new windows 10 shall I try to format again or no

thanks a lot in advance

Hi:

Sorry those drivers didn't fix the problem.

You can find the older versions of the BIOS under the W8.1 driver section of the support page.

You can go all the way back to F.64 if you wanted to.

The problem is...you're running W10 and the BIOS files were written to be run on W8.1, so I don't know what will happen if you try to downgrade the BIOS with a file that was not written to be run on W10.

Unfortunately, I don't know what the cause of the problem could be--especially if the notebook was working fine with the mechanical hard drive.

Maybe your notebook is not compatible with the model SSD you bought.

I never heard of the model SSD you bought.

I have only used SSD's from major manufacturers like Intel, Sandisk and Western Digital.

This drive provides the best performance for the price, in my opinion.

I have a 1 TB, 500 GB and 250 GB model of the above drive in 3 PC's and it works just fine in all of them.
