Can’t tell you how unhappy i am with HP, how they have the cheek to supply a substandard keyboard without function keys is beyond me. Just bought a £1400 HP Envy, delivered a few days ago & i’ve spent ages trying to figure out what’s been discovered in this thread. Shocking that i now have to go out and buy another keyboard, I say this keyboard is not fit for purpose and HP should replace it free of charge.

Would HP care to pick this up?

Thank you for the information.

Can you share a picture of the keyboard and what exactly you are looking for on the keyboard?

Cheers!

my main software uses function keys throughout, this keyboard supplied with the Envy has no Function Key 'LOCK' to enable the function keys to be active all the time without having to use the 'fn' key

This is the function of the keyboard. Cannot be changed.
Unfortunately, in this case, you can only change to another keyboard.

The keyboard that you have is a multimedia keyboard and as you have rightly mentioned there is no option to change it.

You need to purchase a regular keyboard if you use the function keys regularly.

Cheers?

I’ve been sold a system that isn’t standard, a keyboard that doesn’t fn lock & therefore doesn’t work with my software so i have to go buy something else... so why sign off with a ‘cheers’ when I’m obviously going to be p** off with this response.

I dont know where to go from here but this is my 1st & last HP disaster..

can an HP rep clarify pls,

do i need to specify a “regular keyboard” when i purchase an HP system? I had no such option last week.

@TPD1

Thank you for posting back.

As we have limited support boundaries in the support community as of now. I would suggest you can check with HP shopping team while customizing your purchase.
