There are many reporting this same problem. The problem seems to be an over heating issue that destroys the motherboard by burning it in a particular location where one or more of the components in the charger/power supply electronics is located.

I am working with HP to find out what the solution will be because this is definitely a problem with the Spectre x360 computer.  This problem seems to occurs on any of the 4002dx  motherboards whether the notebook contains the I3, I5 or i7 CPU chip.

I like you, used my computer for a limited time and had it fail.  One of my messages from HP so far was that this computer is no longer serviced.  Am hoping HP treats this as a defect an not a normal failure.  You can buy new MBs from China for about $250 but I decided not to do this because I suspect that any replacement motherboard that hasn't had some kind of modification to correct this problem will fail again.

Am now waiting for an answer from HP to negotiate some kind of solution to this problem.  When I purchased my notebook it was top of the line with an SSD and a cost of over $1,200.

Someone on this forum who works at HP will answer you and most likely will promptly refer you the HP service  where you cam carry on a private communications with HP Service.

I believe, this is a problem that no one on the Forum can help you with.

@Leeze appreciate your comment but history has shown the Forum has assisted several to get this issue repaired for less than the cost of a new motherboard. We always defer to HP Support for what they may choose to offer, however.
