Hi! @Shubham5555, Thanks for stopping by the HP Support Forums!

I understand you have issues powering on your laptop and the charging light keeps blinking on your laptop.

Don't worry I'll to help you out.

Did you make any software or hardware changes on your laptop?

Have you tried charging your laptop using a different adapter or battery?

Please share the product number of your PC to assist you better.

By not wasting much of your time, try few steps recommended below.

Check if the pin inside the DC or charging port is bent or broken.

Try performing a hard reset on your PC and check if it helps.

To perform a power reset on a laptop with a removable battery, use the following steps:

  1. Turn off the computer.

  2. Remove the computer from any port replicator or docking station.

  3. Disconnect all external connected peripheral devices such as USB storage devices, external displays, and printers.

  4. Unplug the AC adapter from the computer.

  5. Remove the battery from the battery compartment.

  6. With the battery and power cord unplugged, press and hold the Power button for about 15 seconds to drain any residual electrical charge from the capacitors.

  7. Insert the battery and plug the AC adapter back into the laptop, but do not connect any of the peripheral devices.

  8. Press the Power button to turn on the computer.

The computer starts normally or a startup menu opens.

       NOTE:

If your computer does not start after pressing the Power button, then a power reset did not solved the startup issue. See Additional resources for further troubleshooting steps.

  9. If a startup menu opens, use the arrow keys to select Start Windows Normally, and then press the Enter key.

  10. After Windows opens, reconnect each peripheral device that was disconnected, one device at a time, until all devices are reconnected.

  11. Your laptop has been reset. After a power reset, it is a good idea to run Windows Update and HP Support Assistant to update the BIOS and device drivers. See Updating Drivers and Software with Windows Update (Windows 10, 😎 and Using HP Support Assistant (Windows 10, 8, 7) for more information.

Also, You can update BIOS and other drivers on your PC using HP support assistant.

Refer this article to know more information about using the HP support assistant.

Also, If you are able too boot into your PC, Please perform below-shown steps to resolve the issue:

Step 01. Click on the Start Button
Step 02. Type "Device Manager" in the start search box & open the Device Manager
Step 03. Look for Batteries and expand it by click on the + symbol on the left
Step 04. Right Click on "Microsoft ACPI Compliant Control Method Battery" & uninstall
Note: This Battery driver will get reinstalled automatically when you restart the Notebook again
Step 05. Please Shutdown the Notebook
Step 06. Please remove the Battery and unplug the Power Adapter
Step 07. Press and Hold the Power Button for full 1 Minute
Step 08. Go ahead and put back the Battery and connect the Power Adapter
Step 09. Look for "Plugged In Charging" message on the Battery icon

Refer this article to further troubleshoot battery issues with your PC.

Also, try running a system diagnostics test on your PC and check if the hardware components on your PC are functioning correctly.

Refer this article to know more information about running system diagnostics on your PC.

As a last resort, you can try performing a push button to reset your PC and check if it works.

I have a pevilion dv6 6155tx laptop running on Windows 7..!!
the charger is f9 and i can't say anything about charging port inside the laptop..
when i plug in my charger the power led next to charging port keeps blinking and after 2 3 minutes ram starts heating badly..
also i didn't make any software of hardware changes..!!
i dont think that ram/hard drive is faulty because even if we remove ram/hard drive laptop should response and should make a beep sound..!!
I went to hp care they not even look at it and said that this model is old and hp don't provide any kind of support for this laptop .
i am left with nothing..!!

@Shubham5555, Thanks for your quick response and time.

You did a Marvelous job by trying the steps recommended previously.

However, As you mentioned the RAM starts to overheats within 2-3 minutes and the laptop shuts down.

It certainly looks like the system board has gone faulty on your laptop.

And as this PC is more than 4 years old you might not find parts for this product. HP stops manufacturing parts for PC which are more than 4 years old.

I would suggest you take it to a local computer shop and get the PC fixed or upgrade your PC to a new one as the cost of a system board is almost equivalent to a new PC.

Hope this answers your query!

Take Care! 🙂
