Actually doing this for my daughter. She bought this x360just shy of two years ago. Used it for Netflix and e-mail with a couple of easy teaching programs. Had to buy it on time because she just graduated from college. Anyway, she loved the computer until one day it would not power up. Took to Geek Squad-was told it would be around $500 to fix. It really had an easy life with no drops or liquids spilled on the machine. Can HP help?

Was this motherboard issue ever resolved? I was just told that I'd need to pay $800 to replace mine despite the laptop being barely a year old. That is not normal wear and tear. Has HP just thrown up its hands and said "not our fault" on this thing that's clearly well documented?

I was offered a reduced rate. Probably better not say how much, but it was considerable. Still to much, in my opinion, so I sent the unit to be repaired. They will send me a quote after looking at the machine.

Is it known whether the motherboard failure problem includes the 2017, specifically the x360 13-w063nr?
