My SD card reader is constantly unresponsive, and the only way to fix the issue it to reboot my laptop every stinking time I need to use it. This is beyond inconvenient, as I have to remember all the various work items I have open, lest I forget about some task I was working on. Is there a way to reboot the driver by itself? Yes, I have the most current driver, yes the OS is updated (oh, how I HATE the Windows unstoppable auto-update system which always finds a way to bring progress to a screeching halt!), no I do not have a USB card reader, no I don't have another way of connecting.
Device Mgr indicates the following:
This device cannot start. (Code 10)
{Operation Failed}
The requested operation was unsuccessful.

The specs of your machine is
https://support.hp.com/ph-en/document/c05809809
It has Intel® 802.11b/g/n/ac (2x2) Wi-Fi® and Bluetooth® 4.2 Combo adapter. Please download and install Intel drivers (not Realtek) on the following link

Hi, @operaflute
The only suggestion I can offer would be to update the driver and see if that resolves the problem.
Restart the PC after installing the driver.
The one on your notebook's support page (10.0.16299.21304) is outdated.
10.0.19041.21339

I looked around and found it from a newer model HP Spectre.

Thanks Paul, my reading (the question is not a WIFI card) too early in the morning.
Regards.

Ah - I didn't know you could do that! Will mess around with the newer versions (I found an intermediate one, also) and see what works. (The reboot alone tends to temporarily fix the problem, so I'll have to wait a bit and see what does or doesn't "stick.")
