The laptop would not recover using the system recovery options and the recovery partition.
Is there a way to re-create this partition now that I have installed windows from a USB installation?
I do not see options to download a tool to recreate the recovery partition in the event that the hard drive was replaced or had become corrupt.

I did try to use the cloud recovery app it will NOT take the product ID, and will not let me continue any further.
It just says the product ID is not valid. Does that mean I need to have the rest of the information filled in? I believe that was greyed out as the product ID was not accepted.

Get the latest HP support assistant
When you run it it will provide a product id and a serial number as soon as the device is selected (if more than one HP device)
See if it matches what your label has. Some laptops with plastic bodies the serial number is impressed on the bottom of the case
If you go to the below site and enter your serial number you may find more information about how your system was put together and the parts that make it up

No. It did not work.
Try using System Info to verify the System SKU.
System SKU is identical to the product number.

What I typed IS the number etched into the back cover.
Why in the world would the tool not recognize that number? Also, why wouldn't the tool just search for the number when what we type in "doesn't match" what the tool thinks it should be?
I don't have the laptop currently to re-test your idea.
